How to use the Frankenplug! 

(ALL SIZES AND VARIATIONS EXCEPT THE SPA SAVER)

Frankenplug Senior 14″ – 15 Second Return Line Leak Repair! 

• Identify which return line has a leak 

• Fully remove the eyeball and fitting from the return line (the eyeball is 3 parts: the ring, the eyeball, and the seat. All must be removed) 

• Identify length of connection needed (you can use a tape measure to see how far the pipe is from the opening) 

• Note Frankenplug 14” has limit of 13” reach 

IF NEEDING TO ADJUST THE SIZE OF FRANKENPLUG SENIOR 

– Use the process of “How much shorter does it need to be?” 

– Example: if you determine it needs to be 3” shorter, cut 3” off the outer tube. 

– Make sure that you cut it carefully to ensure that it is a squared cut! 

TO FINISH ADJUSTING LENGTH: after you are sure you have it right, go ahead and cut the threaded pipe to the appropriate length. Make sure you leave enough threading left for the trim ring! 

• Insert frankenplug all the way in until only the front end is showing 

• Tighten nut to seal (typically has approx. 5/8“ – ¾” threading that is protruding beyond the nut) 

• Thread trim eye ring on 

• Done! 

Frankenplug Senior 14″-S 15 Second Return Line Leak Repair! (for Straight Pipe) 

• Identify which return line has a leak 

• Identify length of connection needed (you can use a tape measure to see how far the pipe is from the opening) 

• Note Frankenplug 14” has limit of 13” reach 

IF NEEDING TO ADJUST THE SIZE OF FRANKENPLUG SENIOR SEE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS, PROCESS IS THE SAME FOR STRAIGHT PIPE VARIATION 

• Insert frankenplug all the way in until only the front end is showing 

• Tighten nut to seal (typically has approx. 5/8“ – ¾” threading that is protruding beyond the nut) 

• Thread trim eye ring on 

• Done! 

Frankenplug Swimming Pool Leak Repair (4″ Pool Fitting) 

• Identify which return line has a leak 

• Fully remove the eyeball and fitting from the return line (the eyeball is 3 parts: the ring, the eyeball, and the seat. All must be removed) 

• Identify length of connection needed (you can use a tape measure to see how far the pipe is from the opening) 

• Insert frankenplug all the way in until only the front end is showing 

• Tighten nut to seal (typically has approx. 5/8“ – ¾” threading that is protruding beyond the nut) 

• Thread trim eye ring on 

• Done! 

Frankenplug 4″-S (for straight pipe) – 15 Second Leak Repair! 

• Identify which return line has a leak 

• Identify length of connection needed (you can use a tape measure to see how far the pipe is from the opening) 

• Insert frankenplug all the way in until only the front end is showing 

• Tighten nut to seal (typically has approx. 5/8“ – ¾” threading that is protruding beyond the nut) 

• Thread trim eye ring on 

• Done! 

Frankenplug 3″ Mini – 15 Second Pool Leak Repair! for Return Lines 

• Identify which return line has a leak
