How to use the Light Ring Adapter by PoolPal USA
The PoolPal Light Ring Adapter (LAD) provides a secure mounting surface for a standard 10-inch pool light fixture. Follow these steps to position the adapter, secure it around the existing wire set, and reinstall the light.
Electrical safety: Turn off power to the pool light at the circuit breaker before starting. Confirm that the circuit is de-energized before touching the light or wiring. Follow the light manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable electrical codes. If you are not qualified to service pool electrical equipment, contact a licensed electrician or pool professional.
What You Will Need

- The screws supplied with the adapter
- The pool light and its retaining screws
- The appropriate hand screwdriver
Step 1: Gather the LAD Pieces and Hardware
Locate both pieces of the Light Ring Adapter and the screws supplied with the kit. Confirm that you have all components before beginning the installation.
Step 2: Position the Wire and Join the Adapter Pieces
Place the light’s wire set between the two LAD pieces. Align the ends of the adapter pieces and bring them together around the wire. Make sure the wire is positioned correctly (front facing) and is not pinched or damaged.
Step 3: Secure the LAD in Place
Thread the supplied screws into the LAD mounting points. Tighten the screws evenly until the adapter is secure. Do not overtighten or damage the plastic mounting points.
Step 4: Seat the Pool Light
Center the pool light over the adapter ring. Carefully push the light into place until it is seated evenly against the LAD. Keep the wire safely behind the fixture and make sure it is not pinched.
Step 5: Secure the Light to the Adapter Ring
Align the light’s retaining-screw holes with the mounting points on the LAD. Thread the light’s screws into the adapter ring and tighten them evenly. Confirm that the light is secure and sits evenly.
Step 6: Inspect the Completed Installation
Check that the light is centered, fully seated, and firmly attached to the adapter ring. Confirm that the wire is safely positioned behind the fixture and that no parts are loose. Once the installation has been inspected and the area is safe, restore power and test the light according to the light manufacturer’s instructions.
